In the course of providing bridging loans for commercial and residential properties, we collect the following personal information when you provide it to us:

  • Loan and financial intermediaries that you have agreed with will provide us with information to assist with your loan application.
  • Credit search agencies to determine your suitability for the loan; and
  • Your employer will determine suitability for the loan.

2. How we use your Personal Information

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • Fulfil our contractual obligations;
  • Conduct thorough due diligence to assess your suitability for any loans you are applying for.
  • Internal record keeping;
  • Improve our products and services;

We use the information you have provided to determine your eligibility for lending.

We routinely share this information with legal advisors, credit rating and risk search companies, RICS property valuers, and external finance agents to fulfil our obligations to you.

We require your name and address to provide you with bridging loans for commercial and residential properties. We will inform you at the point of collecting information from you whether you are required to provide the information to us.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful basis we rely on for processing this information.

(b) We have a contractual obligation to collect and use your personal data as is necessary to fulfil our contractual obligations to you.

(c) We have a legal obligation to collect and use your data where you have given us explicit consent for us to process your data to provide you with information about the product and service, to determine your suitability for the loan you have applied for.

3. How we store your Personal Information

Your information is securely stored on our secure cloud-based file hosting service.

We retain personal information for the duration of your loan and an additional 6 years thereafter. We will then securely dispose of your information, destroying it electronically.

4. Your data protection rights relating to your information

Under data protection law, you have rights regarding the personal information we hold about you. Details of these rights and instructions on how to exercise them are outlined below. We will require evidence of your identity before we are able to act on your request.

  1. Right of Access. You have the right at any time to ask us for a copy of the information about you that we hold, and to confirm the nature of the information and how it is used.
